MEANINGS OF DIFFERENT COLORS OF CARNATIONS

Well everyone knows that carnations are one of the most popular kinds of flowers that people choose to gift to their people. But the problem that we have here is that people don’t really know the meanings of the different colors of carnations, and yes, they do have different meanings to them, and they all don’t all necessarily pertain to love.

So for the people who don’t know what they mean, here are the meanings of the colors of the carnations that there are.

  1. RED CARNATIONS

Over the years, the color red, has become almost synonymous to love, red carnations have 2 kinds of red carnations. Light red, and dark red, and both of them have different meanings, as follows:

Light Red: light red carnations portray admiration, and adoration.

Dark Red: dark red carnations portray sentiments of love and admiration.

RED CARNATIONS

  1. PINK CARNATIONS

Pink carnations primarily signify fondness and motherly care, and as the Red one, there are a 2 different colors of the pink carnations too.

Light Pink: Light pink carnations symbolize mother like love and express gratitude towards their kids.

Dark Pink: Dark pink carnations express tenderness, and fondness, that are the feelings a mother feels for her child.

PINK CARNATIONS

  1. WHITE CARNATIONS

White has always been the color of purity. And as every other white flower, white carnations indicate purity and good luck. Which is what a person feels for the other person. This is not necessarily for a girlfriend. It could be for family, or for friends as well. And no it is not weird for a guy to gift another guy carnations, if they are white.

Even though it is a beautiful color, purple carnations don’t really indicate to anything positive. Purple carnations a usually used to convey condolences for a person and are usually exchanged at funerals, or other events of the sort.

Yellow, being a cheerful and bright color, still indicates a negative message to the receiver. Yellow carnations usually express disappointment, or even rejection. Frankly, when I heard about this I realized the it would be a great way to be let down easy for when a person does not want to go out with you, but still cares enough to send a message without being harsh about it.

So there you have it, the 5 colors of carnations, and their meanings, and I am pretty sure that after reading this you are going to be awestruck when you think about the number of people you have sent the wrong color of carnations to, but don’t worry, these meanings are not common knowledge.
